Day 4:
Due to unseen forces that I cannot control, I fell, hard, off of the non- smoking wagon.... the only reason that I was trying to quit was due to an upcoming surgery. The surgery is cosmetic in nature but if it is not done, and soon, my immune system will become null and void and then my entire existence will follow suit. It is a sad world we live in. We work hard, take care of others, but when it comes down to a matter of life and death, it looks like death is the only option. So, I smoked today and without throwing a pit party and, hopefully tomorrow things will turn around and I can be back on the wagon. If not, I will just smoke myself into oblivion.

Day 3:
The first day of working with no cigarettes! Mornings are rough!!! I really need to just put my running shoes on and hit the pavement as soon as I get up! Morning coffee without nicotine is just not the same. The strong waves of withdrawal that at first would sweep through every 45 minutes have now lessened to every three hours- this is a positive sign. I work in a very high stress environment and I am now having to learn how to deal with stress on a new level. Usually, I would have wen outside and smoked but now I just walk around my workplace breathing very heavy in and out which sounds like I am hyperventilating. Stress is going to be my biggest issue in kicking the habit!

HOUR 1:
I remember it just like yesterday, well, actually it has only been an hour and one-half since the last time I have had a cigarette. I am aimlessly walking around the house, wandering from one room to the next from one room to the next, trying to find something to keep my mind and hands busy. But, all I can think about is my Best-Friend of the last thirty years- a juicy and freshly lit cigarette, preferably a full- flavor menthol, that comes in the wonderful and long- lasting 100's version!! Oh the horror!!! I am off to take a Detox Bath complete with Epsom Salt and Lemon Essential Oil. May the force be with me!
